Paneer Tikka is a popular Indian dish featuring marinated cubes of paneer (Indian cottage cheese) grilled to perfection. It’s often served as an appetizer or main course s well as being a popular street food .

 

Yields:  4 servings  Prep time:  30 minutes  Cook time:  10-12 minutes

Ingredients

 

For the marinade:

  • 1 pound (500 grams) paneer, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  •  
For grilling:

  • Skewers
  • Olive oil


Method

 

  • Marinate the paneer: In a bowl, combine the paneer cubes with yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  • Thread the paneer: Thread the marinated paneer cubes onto skewers.

  • Grill the paneer: Grill the skewers over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until the paneer is cooked through and slightly charred.

  • Serve: Serve the grilled paneer tikka immediately, accompanied with mint chutney or tamarind sauce.
